Technology in Physical Education

Spark gives a great list of ways of how you can use technology in the classroom. It is a great way to inspire your class to work hard everyday in class.

PE geek is a blog that provides you with information on how to integrate technology in to the classroom. You can follow their podcast or sign up for multiple workshops going on.

I really liked this website because of the video examples that are given in each category. You can even utilize these videos when directing the class. It also gives you some differentiation techniques while still using technology.

This website provides different links where you can use technology in your lesson plans. I also liked that they have links to other subjects. You can subscribe to their newsletter as well.

This link is an example of how to directly use technology in a lesson plan. The grade level is 3-5 and it allows the students to use a digital camera to take a picture of their partner while performing different skills.

Differentiated Instruction

1.Differentiated Instruction Weebly

This Weebly was a great resource for me. It gave me multiple views of how to prepare differentiated lessons. It also gives tests, assessments, and templates for you to use as well.

This handout is from an event put on by Ever Active Schools, and it has a great amount on differentiation in physical education. It gives you literature to read, principals to follow, and visual concepts of how to implement differentiation in the classroom.

I think this is is a great link because having a reference  regarding students with disabilities can only benefit you as a teacher. There are examples of how you can differentiate the rules, boundaries, actions, time, or equipment.

This link is a good all around data base for differentiation. It explains learning styles and how to adapt to them. There are examples of how to discover your student's learning style and how to guide them.

I think its always good to have an example of an executed lesson plan. Something you can build from and create your own.

Introduction

My name is Shane and I am 27 years old living in Huntington Beach, California. I am currently working on my single subject credential while substitute teaching and working at a local butcher shop in Huntington Beach.

I attended Long Beach State for my bachelors degree and also played Water Polo for the school. Sports have always been a big part of my life, and after playing for many years I decided to coach at a local high school in Huntington Beach. Once I started working with kids I knew I wanted to become a teacher and coach Water Polo at the high school level. I currently coach at Fountain Valley High School assisting with the Boys Water Polo program. I hope to teach Physical Education with my teaching credential and influence students to lead a healthy life and fit life.

Meeting the needs of diverse learners is something every teacher needs to be ready for. There can be so many different learning styles in the classroom, so the teacher needs to be able to customize their lesson plan accordingly. I believe that I will accomplish this by preparing myself as much as I can for each lesson, and have alternative assignments for students who may need a different approach to the material.
